CME Group reopens Globex metals, natural gas trading after brief technical halt

Feb 25 (Reuters) – CME Group reopened trading in its Globex metals and natural gas futures and options markets on Wednesday after a brief halt due to technical issues.

Earlier in the day, the CME Globex Metals and Natural Gas futures and options markets were halted at 12:15 p.m. CT due to a technical issue.

“Natural gas futures and options markets reopened at 12:50 CT. Metals markets reopened at 1:45 CT,” CME said in an emailed statement.

CME said all day orders and good‑till‑date (GTD) orders for Wednesday would be canceled, while good‑till‑canceled (GTC) orders that had already been acknowledged would remain working.

GTD orders stay active only until a specified date, while GTC orders remain in the book until a trader cancels them.

CME, the largest exchange operator by market value, provides a broad range of benchmark products across rates, equities, metals, energy, cryptocurrencies, and agriculture.

Earlier this month, CME Group reported delays in the publication of metals settlement prices.
